Cardio Workout Plans

I am not the most enthusiastic person when it comes to working out. I see it as an arduous task, and not as a fun activity to look forward to everyday. As such, I try to organize my workout plans as best as I can and I do not waste my time doing cardio exercises which do not work for me.

Whilst you are developing your cardio workout plan, you must remember the following pointers.

First, be consistent. Choose one activity which you will use consistently during the entire workout plan.

Second, when you feel you are ready to intensify your workout, mix a heavier activity with your basic training activity. This means that you have to do your light workout routines with your heavy workout routines, with healthy intervals in between.

For example, you can start your workout by walking steadily. After a certain period, start running. End the exercise by going back to brisk walking.

Finally, when you feel that you are ready to further strengthen your workout plan, then it is time to add more rigorous activities. You can start by walking to the gym then running on the treadmill in the gym when you arrive. Afterwards, ride the bicycle for a few minutes.  To slowly cool down, you can go back to walking again.

The hardest thing about working out is starting the healthy habit, which is why it is strongly recommended that you warm up by running. Running is the perfect foundation for a great cardio workout plan. Begin with the proper stretching exercises, and you are guaranteed to burn calories with every mile that you run. The best thing about running is that it is very practical.

With running, you do not need any pricey gym membership or fancy equipment as all you need are durable running shoes! And, if you want to make the experience even more stimulating, you can listen to your favorite music while burning those calories. Just make sure you’ve uploaded the right kind of music to your Ipod!

Another popular choice for a great cardio workout is the bicycle. I’ve always loved riding bicycles because it gave me a chance to go around my neighborhood while exercising at the same time. Bicycles give a certain feeling of freedom which makes it such a perfect addition to your cardio workout.

However, if you like a cardio activity which will tone your arms as much as your legs, you might also want to try rowing. Rowing is a painstaking activity which should not be taken lightly. Make sure that you have the stamina and the passion for it if ever you decide to include it in your workout plan.

If rowing is not your thing, you may also alternate running with swimming. Swimming is another workout favorite because it is fun and very effective. Swimming is a full body workout which will tone your body and burn your body fats effectively.

Whatever cardio workout you include in your cardio workout plan, be certain that you are ready for that activity and that you are physically able to do it. Finally, ensure that you are doing the activities that you actually enjoy, as it is only when you are fulfilled that you will have the will to continue your workout.
